The environmental committee,

Calls upon all Member States to intensify their efforts towards sufficiently integrating biodiversity in their national policies focusing more specifically on establishing protected areas, strengthening institutional framework, documenting on the status and trends of traditional knowledge, formulating an effective legislation, establishing funding mechanisms, enhancing public awareness;

Encourages business and industry to develop and apply environmentally sound technology that should aim not only at increasing competitiveness but also at reducing negative environmental impacts.

Adopts a UNEP project on the drafting of a national plan of action to combat desertification that will contribute to the environment of the emplacement of the environmentally hazardous substances; support agricultural production in mountain regions; environmental rehabilitation of mountain regions.

Requests all countries to have classes teaching children about the environment -and encouraging them to support non-governmental organizations like Greenpeace and NWWF and U.N.E.P. .

Encourages Member States to undertake awareness-raising activities to improve understanding of the serious impact of trafficking in protected species of wild flora and fauna;

Directs governments to put some strict restrictions on illegal hunting, in order words to try to stop people hunting just for pleasure or profit because this is the main reason of the extinction of biodiversity;

Urges the United Nations Community to take some measures in order to reduce the phenomenon of deforestation like employing more forest rangers and controlling the number of trees cut annually so as to preserve the natural habitat of many animal species;

Urges Member States to provide proper education to the young generation and raise their awareness about the importance of biological diversity and the need to conserve it.

Encourages all state members that need help as for the environmental issues to ask for financial support in order to create the basis for an eco-friendly world.
